Bug Report

This is where you can post a bug report. We appreciate bug reports very much. I strive to build an app that is bug free, but sometimes a few sneak up me.

If you are not sure if it is a bug or not go ahead and report it anyway.

  1. Hi,
I just wanted you too know about a few bugs I’ve encountered while testing Woohoo. The first one I encountered when trying to view my packages, it didn’t let my view the thumbnails within the folders where I keep my downloads, just the folders themselves.

The second one was when I tried making a backup (when it works I am sure it will be a great tool). The window loaded but then everything went grey as if loading and it continued, for almost five minutes before I force quit the application and reinstalled it. Tried again, same thing.

The third bug I’ve encountered so far was when I happily skipped along to try the package tester, deep version. I have well over 7000 downloads in my game so it might be why it halfway through checking my downloads simply quit. I haven’t tried again.

I am running the game on an iMac G5 1.9 Ghz, OSX 10.4.7. Hope it helps you some since I don’t think I can be more specific.

    Agnes

  2. The demo (v. 2.17.1) isn’t letting me do anything. I’ve redownloaded the zip file a couple of times now and have dragged the entire folder into the Applications folder, but nothing seems to work. The program doesn’t crash, but it always says that “This feature is disabled: Whatever it is I have just tried to do.” Any help would be appreciated. I’m running a G5, 1.8GHz, OS 10.3.9

  3. Nannigans, some key features in the demo are disabled. This is not a bug. MA

  4. Agnes. This sounds like a particular file is corrupt or woohoo is having trouble reading a particular file. I am collecting these files to analyze and update woohoo. If you are able to determine the culprit file and send it to me it would be very appreciated. MA

  6. Andrea, only package files get thumbs. Are there packages in the downloads folder? Also some packages do not contain images (meshes and hacks) and the browser will display a ‘no images’ icon. Other packages may contain blank images (nude clothing). If you think this is an actual bug try to open a suspect package in the package viewer. Images will have a type of PNG or TXTR. Let me know. MA

  7. hi MA,
in the download folder are only package files stored, the first demo v. tried to create thumbs and I saw all the different icons, but the programm crashed-no thumbs anymore, only if I browse the saved sims folder.Strange.
May be I have to many downloads (1,9 GB) ?I had a look at some package files in the package viewer and they all have a type of PNG or TXTR.Excuse my English but it’s not my native language. Thanks for your support.

  8. Andrea, your english is fine. The GB does not matter. How many files are in your downloads folder?
Are you getting a spinning ball? Does the browser work normally otherwise? Can you expand (disclosure triangle) a package and see the images in it?
You can try to trash the ~/Library/WooHoo/Thumbnails Cache/ folder. That may have become corrupt somehow. Let me know. MA

  9. In my download folder are around 2500 files,I don’t get a spinning ball and I can’t expand a package.I moved
the thumbnail cache folder to trash,I started the programm and the folder was recreated without any new result.Another strange thing is the “howdy table”-if I choose an option there all letters in the main menu and
the browser table are replaced by a big A,if I choose an option directly from the main menu it works fine.
    Greetings Andrea

  10. I your user name table? The howdy window should have your user name name in the title. Something sounds really wrong with your computer. Are you having trouble with any other apps? May I suggest booting up from your install disk and running a full set of system diagnostics? That may uncover a problem. Also what OS version and processor type are you running? MA

  11. The howdy window has my name in the title.I’m running a G4 processor and OSX 10.4.7.-just because I was curious I installed classic but never used it.This morning I found out how to get the thumbs,I guess it is not
the way it should work-anyway.I moved a folder to “saved sims” and opend it (I can open a folder exactly one
time after I started the demo-I know it is disabled, but this one time it’s possible to do),the thumbs were on display,I chose the download option in the same window and suddenly I had all the images of the download
folder. It is strange it works only this way and if I choose a new option and go back to downloads the thumbs
are lost and I have to quit woo hoo and start again.I also tried to store just the packages without the folder in
“saved sims”,I still have the thumbs in there but if I go to download option they are not shown anymore.Sorry, this is a confusing story. My iBook is about 9 month old and everything works fine never had
problems before,if you want me to do this system diagnostics I’ll do.Andrea

  12. The disclosure triangle in the browser will work once per browser window. So, if you open another browser it will work one time again. (No need to restart WooHoo). The popup button in the browser will navigate to another folder. If you choose Other… you can navigate to any folder of your choice.

The browser shows items hierarchally the same way finder does.

What you said before about the welcome window sounds very strange. So I suggest you run the full set of diagnostics.

  13. I ran the full set of diagnostics and everything is fine with my computer. If I browse the download folder first and click the triangel to expand a folder nothing happens-of course the triangel turns-thats all.To get thumbs
I have to open a folder stored in saved sims first.I don’t mind if thats the way how it works on my computer.
I don’t want to annoy you any longer for me it’s fine.I linked your side to Insimenator.net and Reflexsims
forum and hope you’ll get Pay Pal soon.Greetings Andrea

  14. (In reference to version 2.17.3)

Whenever I try to run a test on my downloads folder, it’ll get past a dozen or so files (several coming up as failed) before “unexpectedly quiting”. I tried canceling it right before it crashes, so I can get the names of the failed files and remove them, but even after doing so and starting again, it’ll crash after checking 17 files (none marked as failed).

I’m starting to think my downloads folder is posessed by the devil.

  16. Bush is forever saying that democracies do not invade other countries and start wars. Well, he did just that. He invaded Iraq, started a war, and killed people. What do you think? What is he doing to us, and what is he doing to the world?
If ever there was ever a time in our nation’s history that called for a change, this is it!
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!
